Murray Libersat, 76, of Manchaca, Texas passed away on April 27, 2024 surrounded by family. Born in Beaumont, Texas in 1947, Murray graduated from Nederland High School and attended The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a B.A. in philosophy and a Master of Architecture. He married Margaret Mann in 1971 and had three children. The family lived in Kerala, India from 1980 to 1983, where he studied traditional Indian architecture on a Fulbright fellowship. He sustained a lifelong interest in the culture and spiritual traditions of South India. He worked in Central Texas as an architect and builder for most of his career but also spent 14 years working in the greater Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania. Murray is survived by his wife Margaret; children Julien, Jeff and Julie; four grandchildren Mathias, Lea, Oliver and Isabel; and siblings Karen, David and Cheryl. He is predeceased by his parents Murray and Inez Libersat and sister Barbara.
